The Free Gym Tour.

The Goal:Tour the areas gyms on ‘Free Trial’ passes.

So Far:

4 gyms in 4 weeks, twice at each gym.

There are conservatively 15 or 20 gyms within walking distance of work (downtown Toronto ), and then probably another 15 on my transit ride from work to here, I’ll create a post for each gym with a little review, maybe something about how my workouts are going, we’ll see.

A warning, I like a pretty basic gym setup, free weights, some machines etc.. Good music and environment are high on the list as well, but I’m not a yoga/pilates/massage enthusiast, so these things will not add much to my ratings.

I’ve played around with google maps integration, so maybe I’ll even do something fancy with that business….

MAPS!

Venice Fitness.

So a martial arts club I used to (maybe i still do) belong to moved into a space where I used to go to boozecans , ironic.

Venice fitness is located in a space I used to go to raves in… also ironic.

Totum Life Science

Apparently,

“Totum* re-defines fitness.
At Totum, fitness is not about the time in the gym, it’s about the rest of your life. ”

This was not my experience with it

Diesel Fitness

This was my first ‘fancy’ gym , so I came with low expectations.

King West Fitness

I was a little suspicious at first, it’s downstairs across from roy thompson hall, and seems like it could be dire.
In actuallity the space is really fun, basement of an old bank or something, with the leg press machine in a little vault room.
